Chief Baba Neil Clarke has traveled the world exploring drumming traditions and styles from the African Diaspora as lead percussionist for Harry Belafonte and 25 years with NEA Jazz Master Randy Weston’s African Rhythms.  A frequent educational speaker, Clarke continues the legacy of authentic African drumming traditions in the Americas. He understands the importance of music traditions and the value of passing them down to future generations.  Chief Baba Neil Clarke’s performance is made possible by TRANSART & Cultural Services whose mission is to enrich the experience of living in the Hudson River Valley, which extends from New York City to Lake Champlain.
